2007 Call for Papers

Yoga: Science or Religion?

The YDST extends a cordial call for papers probing the topic of whether Yoga can be understood as Science, Religion or other. The history of Yoga is anything but one of uniform method. It seems sometimes, there are as many viewpoints of Yoga as there are practioners; never-the-less, a plurailty of opinion does not solve for us the question of what can and cannot be deemed Yoga. In an age divided by Science and Reason on the one hand and New Age Spirtualism and Religious Plurality on the other, it is important to question what is asking too much of this practice and by what means can we go further into it.

Papers should not exceed 3000 words and may be submitted to 2007cfp@tydst.com. Deadline for submissions will be June 22/2007.
